The CloudCart GDPR application helps store owners comply with data privacy regulations by managing consent collection and user data processing. Additionally, it integrates Google Consent Mode, allowing for compliant data collection across Google services like Analytics and Ads, while ensuring your marketing and analytics efforts remain lawful and privacy-focused.


Step 1: Access the App Store
To install the GDPR app, log in to your CloudCart account and from the left-hand menu, click on Apps.


Step 2: Find and Install the GDPR App

  • In the app store, type "GDPR" into the search bar and click on the GDPR app. Once the app appears, click "Install" to begin the installation.


Step 3: Configure Consent Sections

  • After installation, navigate to the "Consent Sections tab". Here, you can customize how you collect user consent at different stages such as Registration, Checkout, Contact Form and Restocked Products. 
  • Ensure to set policies for each section and make them mandatory where applicable by toggling the "Required" button.


Step 4: Cookie Settings

  • Navigate to the Cookies tab to configure cookie consent settings. You can display a cookie bar, define strictly necessary cookies and more.
  • Ensure Google Consent Mode is enabled if you're using analytics or ads for remarketing. This will ensure compliance with GDPR when processing user data in the European Economic Area.


Step 5: Policies Setup

  • In the Policies section, create or manage various policies (e.g., Privacy Policy, Terms & Conditions) that apply to your store. 
  • You can edit and add new policies using the "+ Add New Policy" button.

  • Once all the configurations are complete, return to the overview page and toggle the Enable button at the top of the page to activate GDPR compliance.
